Sticky Mats for Yoga Archives

What kind of yoga mat should I use for bikram?

I'm starting to do Bikram yoga (hot yoga). I have a regular sticky mat and a manduka towel, but I'd like to get a yoga mat more suited to Bikram. What brand/mat do you recommend?

For beginning yoga supplies: do I need 2 blocks or is 1 ok…?

I'm trying to figure out what I need to start out. I'm ordering a 1/4 inch thick sticky yoga mat, a nylon mat bag, a cotton 6' strap with plastic buckle, a 4" foam block, from www.yogaacessories.com.
Is that ok to start? Do you have better suggestions? Thanks! :)

enlighten me please, on yoga mat use with carpets?

So i have to do yoga on a carpet.
What kind of yoga mat can i use?
im currently using a pilates mat but i find that it is too thick
for my liking and would like a thin yoga mat so that when i do
start to take classes i can use it at home and in class.
I dont think a sticky mat will suffice well but that is the only type/kind
that i know of. Please help me :)

I can not fit my new sticky mat in my yoga bag?

I just bought a new sticky mat for my yoga practice and it no longer fits in my yoga bag (or to stuff it in is very time consuming and is never perfect). The bag is a traditional bag with a drawstring on top. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've also seen on line
regular size bags and x/large bags. Is this critical? Thank you.
